Much was made of the Yankees' struggles against Gausman and Yesavage's splitters last week, and I'd expect a similar attack from Bieber tonight. He started throwing the kick-change this year, which in terms of movement profile is basically another splitter.
While again, pitcher-vs-batter is mostly noise, this part was fascinating to me. The three pitchers that Vlad speeds his bat up against the most ... have combined to never once ever strike him out.
I'm a little worried that he might be gassed. He looked completely spent in the 7th inning of last week's game. But, per my stated prediction, he'll find a way to get it done tonight, of course
