Big announcement from Gov. Newsom:

I'm sure we'll get it... in two weeks.
The White House is promising to announce a new healthcare plan "very soon." We've heard that one before...

It is newsworthy that the president of the United States is increasingly verbally abusive of women reporters and he should be asked about it.

I swore an oath to the Constitution in 1986. I've upheld it through 25 years of service and every day since I retired.

If Trump's trying to intimidate me, it won’t work. I’ve given too much to our country to be silenced by bullies who care more about power than the Constitution.

For MAGA these photos are akin to being thrown into a windowless room with bright lights and loud music blaring 24/7
Trump just posted these. His cult is not happy with him.

Welp, for the first time in my life I cannot disagree with anything Marjorie Taylor Greene has said:

Democrats need to call Republicans what they are: un-American. Every Republican going along with Trump’s destruction wears that label, and it’s time to make them own it. Watch LP’s Stuart Stevens on MSNBC:

And Dems need to blanket the country with this kind of messaging if they have any hope of restoring respectability
This seems like the most straightforward and also basically accurate message.
instead of saying this was good strategy, maybe senate dems should say: "the republicans were going to kill people by starving them to death, and because we aren't monsters, we decided to let this fight go. We'll keep fighting. Stop electing monsters."

Today, Mike Johnson will keep the House adjourned for the 94th day out of the last 106.

12 days of work in 106 days.

With full pay and benefits.

The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.

It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.

Roughly one in eight Americans are enrolled in SNAP. That is 12.5% of the U.S. population (340M). 12.5% of a nation that has been described as a "shining city on a hill" and "beacon to the world." These are empty phrases if we can't prevent hunger in 12.5% of the population.
More than 47 million Americans — including one in five children — don’t have reliable, affordable access to nutritious food. And as the cost of living skyrockets, more families are depending on SNAP benefits, or food stamps, to put food on the table.

Well said.
It’s interesting how many people are progressive until it’s time for progress.

What if I told you solving homelessness was about building homes, not more shelters?

What if I told you that SNAP benefits exist because an equitable system doesn’t?

Do you want solutions or a performative band aid?
