"Bruce Springsteen unintentionally proved he could be more truthful alone in a bedroom than he ever could with the most airtight band in America, which is the kind of revelation that must feel both liberating and vaguely insulting to everyone involved.” www.deadendfollies.com/blog/book-re...
Book Review : Warren Zanes - Deliver Me From Nowhere: The Making Of Bruce Springsteen's Nebraska (2023) — Dead End Follies
I dare you to find anything in your life that you love with even half the obsessive, granular devotion Warren Zanes brings to Nebraska.

Album Review : Demon King - Death Knell (2025) — Dead End Follies
It’s fun. It’s exhausting. And if that contradiction bothers you, congratulations: you’ve finally understood tech death.

"The movie’s accidental genius is the implication that postwar modernity is the world’s worst roommate for history, loud, entitled, and convinced that repainting a traumatized space makes it new again."

It’s supposed to be Thomas Pynchon’s "easy" novel, but it’s not easy easy and, most important, it’s not simple www.deadendfollies.com/blog/book-re... #BookSky #ThomasPynchon
Book Review : Thomas Pynchon - Inherent Vice (2009) — Dead End Follies
You don’t just read Pynchon. You enter a hall of mirrors built by a man who refuses to show his face even when it’s "supposed" to be easy.

I think this is probably my funnest & grossest novel. I wrote it while we were on set filming a movie & I was probably the happiest I'd ever been in my life & I think it shows in the text. a joyous celebration of body horror. you should read it sometime. maybe even review it? tell a friend? 🥹
