SEGA has revealed that the Sonic the Hedgehog brand franchise sales are currently down year-over-year. They only shifted 1.76m Sonic game sales between October and December 2026. This is compared with 3.45m the year before. SEGA also said that Sonic Rumble failed to meet company expectations and the company didn't comment on Sonic Racing CrossWorlds in its quarterly report.

Instead, there may be "a new series on a different line"

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, which launched for all other platforms last year, is now making its way over to Nintendo Switch 2, Bethesda announced in the latest Nintendo Direct. Although a release date has not yet been shared, the action RPG will arrive on Switch 2 sometime in 2026. Check out how the game fares in the announcement trailer below.

Team Cherry has announced that a free upgrade is coming to Hollow Knight to bring improved resolution and framerate for the Nintendo Switch 2. The update will be available later today via the eShop as there will be a free upgrade pack to allow you to use the Nintendo Switch 2 edition.

Many of you will have been enjoying seeing a number of original Nintendo Switch games updated with improved framerate and resolution when played on the Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo doesn't look like it will be stopping this anytime soon. Speaking to investors, company president Shuntaro Furukawa, said that "we see value in updating software for the widely adopted Switch." He says that by doing this it gets people to revisit older games and thinking about upgrading to the more powerful Nintendo Switch 2.

SwitchForce, which seems to have made their way onto the insiders list, has seemingly teased on X that we should expect a juicy shadow drop during tomorrow's Partner Direct presentation which kicks off at 6am PT / 2pm UK time. There's any number of third party games it could be, so your guess is as good as mine. We will find out if this comes to pass tomorrow afternoon.

Nintendo has provided updated sales figures for a number of its best-selling video games and there's one clear winner and that's Mario Kart 8 Deluxe which has now sold over 70 million units on the Nintendo Switch.
