Labour's anti-asylum policies are already fundamentally inhumane and discriminatory. Applying them retrospectively is pure cruelty though. It serves absolutely no purpose. Meanwhile it will increase the costs and bureaucracy of an already dysfunctional Home Office.

Joel Edgerton was always a guy whose face I’d recognise but wouldn’t able to name his films. But The Stranger, Master Gardiner, Train Dreams? He’s rocking it in these lead roles lately

Callaghan’s new “tough on immigration” rules will only affect a tiny proportion of immigrants—who also happen to be among the most vulnerable. The gov know that drastically reducing inward migration would be an act of self harm so they’ll pick on these asylum seekers as an act of performance. Sick

Watching A Very Royal Scandal. It’s so funny how often Michael Sheen pulls the playing a real person gimmick. Him as Chris Tarrant had gotta be my favourite

This is the "mature debate" they keep banging on about btw. What level of cruelty we should aspire to, with the claimed fear of being seen as less cruel than a country rapidly sliding towards fascism. An ivory tower scumbag
