The reason the wealthiest threaten to take their money and move elsewhere is because they have no convincing arguments as to why they shouldn't pay more to help the country.

The problem is, wealth inequality continues to grow, which takes more and more money from the Treasury...

If Farage became Prime Minister, how would he react if we had another major pandemic or if Putin invaded Poland?
Or would he be too busy at tax avoidance conferences or charging for personalised video messages for his supporters?

If you can afford a mortgage on a £2m house, even if it was only worth £1m when you started buying it, don't pretend that you will struggle to afford to pay a Mansion Tax.

Although Labour should have gone much further with a sliding scale for more expensive homes.

Many Reform supporters argue that it's ridiculous to hound Farage on what he may have said almost 50 years ago, and they have a point.

My own attitude towards others and the wider world has certainly changed since I was a child.

But the problem for Farage is that he hasn't really changed...

How did we manage to build the NHS from scratch as well as so many council homes after a war which left us with huge debt?

Why are we electing successive Governments who chose not to invest in the future of our people? We know where we've got to get to, and it's been done before.
Born on this day, 1897, Nye Bevan, Minister of Health and Housing when Labour built 805,000 council homes between 1945-51. He believed high-quality council housing should reflect 'the living tapestry of a mixed community'.
