Homeless people in my rural area are struggling with extreme cold in near north Ontario today.
🥶Nasty! -30°C with a wind chill of -37°C made taking gloves off to tie a knot while doing farm work daunting this morning. Immediate fumble fingers!
No access to shelter for 8 hours on weekend days.

According to Prime Minister Mark Carney’s speech at the World Economic Forum, “if you’re not at the table, you’re on the menu.”
What does that mean for Indigenous peoples - not invited to the table - but their territories, governance, and futures remain on the menu?

Argh! Many Canadians have pension income from sources that invest in fossil fuels. That puts us a financial risk as well as contributes to #climate chaos. Our biggest pension source, the Canada Pension Plan is among the worst offenders.
Today, Shift released its 4th annual Canadian Pension Climate Report Card, benchmarking the climate policies for Canada’s 11 largest public pension managers. $2.7 trillion in retirement savings is at stake – making their climate strategies central to long-term returns & retirement security.
