The most disadvantaged continue to bear the worst of climate chaos - created by the most privileged people on this planet. More marginal areas now unihabitable - no #climatejustice

I ride in the Great Canadian Cycle Challenge yearly to raise $$ for Sick Kids cancer research. Not only do auto emissions contribute to kids' cancer, each year some riding are hit by motor vehicles....
Plus they give riders new cycing jerseys laden with carcinogenic “forever chemicals” like PFAS🥺

Instead. "Now would be a great time for a widespread and thoughtful public education, not to whip up new fears of flags and protests, or to condemn a vague notion of “hate,” but to promote the values of anti-racism and anti-discrimination in Canada."
New hate crime law is a cover for suppressing Palestine protests ⋆ The Breach
The proposed 'Combatting Hate Act' is built on the idea that protests inspire hateful violence, and gives police the tools to crack down on expression

"From #Climate Urgency to Energy Security"?
Still seems to me that much is happening on the backs of the least secure people on the planet. Even if the % of clean energy produced is growing, those in wealthier nations are taking more of their fair share and their energy use just keeps on growing.
Solar energy is now the world’s cheapest and fastest-growing energy source
Solar power becomes the world’s cheapest energy, reshaping the global grid and driving a cleaner, more resilient future.

Today is World Mental Health Day.
Regarding mental health, people in war torn areas experience much more depression, anxiety or PTSD & have very little support.
We see & feel grave social problems in Canada as well, even without war. We can't fix war, but we CAN build healthier communities for all.

Telling and humble persistence..."The Norwegian Nobel Institute shared a video of the moment its director, Kristian Berg Harpviken, woke Machado up with the news. “Oh my God!” she said. “I have no words ... But I hope you understand that ... I am just one person, I certainly don’t deserve this.”"

The stories most often reported do not add up to the whole story - not even close. After a while of seeing them over and over again they mutate into being the only stories. ourworldindata.org/does-the-new...

"Does the alliance’s collapse open the gates for full-scale bank financing of fossil fuels? Or does it point to a lower-profile but possibly more effective financing path for the climate transition?"
BIG question for moving towards a safer #climate for all life.
Mark Carney's Net-Zero Banking Alliance is done. Now what?
The end of the global network could spell more bank financing of fossil fuels, or a more effective path for the energy transition

As many of us at this moment are honouring the life of Jane Goodall and lament her passing, following up on her message to create a basis for hope through our collective action is looking harder to achieve.
I will guess what she would advise...TRY HARDER.
