The Becker Arcana is almost ready to send out into the universe.
The Lyric Opera signage is always top tier.

Shoutout to whoever was like the news sucks, let’s spice it up by doing a jewel heist at the Louvre
I’m at that point in trying to crank out my exhibit labels that all my brain can come up with is “The book is pretty.”
Can never be too sure with Missouri drivers.
The department of transportation has signs up telling drivers to leave room for snow plows. It is 80 degrees out.
My exhibit consists of some cool frontispieces, some emblem books, some modern artist’s books, and some Tarot cards all hanging out at an Awkward Mixer beneath a banner that says ALLEGORY.
A glorious day for tea at Nagano-an, the tea house at the Missouri Botanical Gardens.
Have a soft, sweet, sleepy cat for these trying times.
The late grandmaster of Urasenke believed in world peace through a bowl of tea. He was right - my tea group is becoming more and more of an oasis of peace and friendship and calm in these times. I am so grateful to have it.
I just found out about the Mourning Society of St. Louis, and this is the reenactment culture I am here for:

That bumped me to Capricorn, but I cannot acknowledge it because I am such a stereotypical Aquarius.
For a long time I thought my Asian Zodiac sign was an Ox, and when I finally grasped that my birthday is *before* the Lunar New Year, I was devastated to realize I’m a Rat. But my tea teacher has assured me that in Japan the January 1st New Year is the key, and I can remain an Ox. RELIEF.
The physical cards for our Becker Library Major Arcana decks came in! They look so good.
Hmmm. Morgagni sort of straddles 17th and 18th?
It’s almost TOO MUCH because what do I spend my time on what do I dooooooooo (other than pay respects to the supreme genius of Hieronymous Bosch)
I also deeply, deeply appreciate that no photos are allowed there. It can definitely be nice to snap a picture of something you want to look up later, but it’s nice that they force you to stop and just look at the art, rather than just capture it as an experience.
The Prado is overwhelming; way too much to see! I almost think you maybe have to go in and say “I have two hours, I will only look at these two rooms and really focus on them” and ignore everything else. Or you’ll just spend too much time running around trying to see EVERYTHING.
WHAT SECRETS DOES IT HOLD.
The used the botafumeiro at the Pilgrims Mass today! Quite a sight.
疲れた!😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨
Another cool thing is that I am now a Dual Pilgrim! UNESCO has two recognized historic pilgrimage routes, the Camino and the Kumano Kodo in Japan. I have now done both. :)
