I had such a wonderful time celebrating Sex Worker Pride this weekend with my fellow workers. We marched from Washington Square Park and I tabled with my co-organizers on behalf of @decrimny.bsky.social with harm reduction supplies and zines ❤️

Thanks Red Light Disco for organizing!
A closeup image of a table bathed in red light showcasing harm reduction supplies like narcan and condoms with decrim by zines. There is a tiny Sonny Angel figurine on the table A photograph of dozens of people (only their backs are showing) walking down an NYC street carrying red umbrellas for sex worker rights

(6/6) Show up for s*x workers with your actions, your votes, and yes - your money. Pretty words without material support is just performance.

(5/6) S*x Worker Pride means refusing to beg for basic human dignity. It means centering the voices that have been shouted down and the expertise that's been ignored.

(4/6) We're criminalized for existing, stigmatized for working, and then expected to be grateful for scraps. No thanks.
decrimny.bsky.social
(3/6) There's immense pride in refusing to be silent, in demanding decriminalization while dodging cops, and in creating safety for our communities when everyone else has failed us. S*x workers show up for trans people, for migrants, for survivors, for all the people society throws away.

(2/6) While lawmakers clutch their pearls and flip-flop on human rights, s*x workers have been consistently leading fights for justice, labor rights, and bodily autonomy. We've been organizing, mobilizing, and building real solidarity - not just posting about it.

(1/6) S*x Worker Pride celebrates six years of saying: s*x workers are brilliant, powerful, and tired of your respectability politics.

decrimny.bsky.social
(3/7) If you celebrate workers today but exclude s*x workers, it’s time to check your exclusionary bullshit.

✊ S*x work is work. Always.
decrimny.bsky.social
(2/7) S*x workers have always organized, built power, and fought for safer working conditions, not just for themselves, but for everyone. From harm reduction to worker solidarity, s*x worker labor makes our communities stronger.

(1/7) Labor Day isn’t just for the workers or work that the mainstream decides is acceptable. ⬇️

(5/10) History shows us that the stigmatization of sex work only fuels regressive laws, from the Mann Act to SESTA-FOSTA.
Defending sex workers freedom is defending everyone's freedom. This is why we will never stop pursuing a world that put sex workers first.
decrimny.bsky.social
(4/10) Opportunistic politicians cannot be relied on for questions about public safety.
In any discussion about safety, we must enter the voices of those closest to the issue: sex workers.
When sex workers tell us that respect and empowerment improve their safety-not police—we must listen.
decrimny.bsky.social
(3/10) Conveniently, he leaves out that he signed the landmark 2021 law that repealed the criminal offense of "loitering for the purpose of engaging in prostitution." This repeal invariably reduced policing of SW.
decrimny.bsky.social
(2/10) Former Gov. Cuomo recently came out against the decriminalization of sex work, calling reduced policing of SW a threat to public safety.

(1/10) Sex work decrim is in the news.
