Nurse, activist, David’s mama, and NY State Assemblymember representing the 57th District. Chair of @TFNA_NYSA🌹
This morning, I sent a letter with Sen. Gonzalez and colleagues urging Gov. Hochul to support our striking nurses and ensure hospitals continue to provide gender-affirming care during the strike.

Last year's arrest of Mahmoud Khalil was more than just a chilling act of political repression, it was an attack on all of our constitutional rights. Now, as the crackdown on pro-Palestinian free speech continues, Mahmoud is being threatened with rearrest. Mahmoud is free—and must remain free.

Nurses show up in our darkest moments. 9/11. The pandemic. Every illness and emergency. Their worth is not negotiable. Fair pay, safe conditions, dignity now. NYC stands with nurses and demands good faith bargaining for justice and care for all.

Sometimes the only way to move forward is not to move at all.

At just 15 years old, Claudette Colvin was arrested for sitting on a bus.

Let her memory shine as evidence that one can never be too young to pick up the mantle of justice.

Rest in Power Claudette.

Last night the US illegally attacked Venezuela and kidnapped President Maduro and his wife.

No one believes that this is about democracy. It’s about power and profit for the US war machine. We know what happens next because we’ve been here before.

No war with Venezuela.

First day of a new era for tenants! Mayor Mamdani announces that he’s objecting to the auction of 93 Pinnacle properties, and he’s appointing Cea Weaver to direct the Mayor’s Office of Tenant Protection. I don’t know anyone who will fight harder for tenants! Watch out Pinnacle and other slumlords!

Seems like just yesterday I took that first trip to Albany alongside an amazing slate of socialists. Five years later, I’m more excited than ever to get back. Can I count on your to be at my reelection kickoff this Monday in Crown Heights?

Wishing joy and light to all throughout our community who are celebrating the start of Hanukkah. Unfortunately, we also mourn the tragic shooting of Jewish Australians as they gathered to celebrate the Festival of Lights. My heart goes out to all the victims of this appalling act of violence.

Rep @velazquez.house.gov has been an inspiring leader in Congress and a fierce defender of immigrants, tenants, and workers. It’s been an honor to work with her in Clinton Hill; our district is better for her service!

Today I stood with Starbucks workers in my district to say: enough is enough. They are fighting for living wages and fair schedules while Starbucks’ new CEO Brian Niccols makes $98 million a year. I’ll be supporting these workers until they get the contract they deserve.

Let's BRING IT HOME FOR ZOHRAN and make a New York City that actually WORKS FOR WORKING NEW YORKERS!

Get out there and VOTE!

Your auntie down the hall, your favorite bodega worker, that guy who works in your building that you've never spoken to but feel a strange kinship with: BRING THEM ALL!

The president’s false charges against @newyorkstateag.bsky.social are a pathetic and desperate attempt to bully his political opponents. New Yorkers stand with Tish.
This is nothing more than a continuation of the president’s desperate weaponization of our justice system.

I am not fearful — I am fearless.

We will fight these baseless charges aggressively, and my office will continue to fiercely protect New Yorkers and their rights..

Happening NOW: New Yorkers Against ICE.

We’re at 26 Federal Plaza, where ICE has been ruthlessly kidnapping immigrant NYers, to demand access to the 10th floor—where people are being inhumanely detained—and block ICE vans from leaving.

Labor Day isn’t just a holiday. It’s a reminder that every right we have was won by workers who organized, struck, and sacrificed. 🌹 💪🏽

From nurses to teachers, delivery drivers to construction crews, working people built this city and keep it running every single day.👷🏾‍♀️👩🏽‍⚕️

Imagine sitting in a multi-million dollar mansion in the Hamptons having a meltdown because the next mayor is promising to make things affordable for working families. There’s something wrong with these people.

I’m devastated by today’s shooting in Crown Heights and am in touch w/ first responders. Praying for those who were killed & injured and their loved ones. Our response to the scourge of gun violence must include real investments in jobs & social services to keep our people whole.
