#PuertoRico, unfortunately, stands in the crosshairs of the revived expansionist doctrine advanced by the US. A broad remilitarization project on our land is underway and supported by the current government. The risks of being a beachhead for invasions are monumental, and we should make this known.

While catching up and getting through my reading pile, I found this wonderful critique and cutting profile.

William F. Buckley has been on my mind as I try to comprehend how a particular form of right leaning thought has captured the US. Osita Nwanevu’s piece fills some key gaps and illuminates.

Ana amazing final show to close “La Residencia”. I am convinced that Benito and his team are showing us what boricua excellence looks and sounds like.

We’re not evidencing a structural shift towards a “planned economy” but a drunk walk towards an capricious and incoherent industrial policy.

No doubt.
When scholars of authoritarianism and fascism leave U.S. universities because of the deteriorating political situation here, we should really worry.

Can’t help but think that this story is currently repeating itself and taking down a small financial institution in Puerto Rico, where crypto creeps unfortunately abound.

According to data from the island’s Planning Board, Puerto Rico imported $1,218M and $647M from Mexico and Canada respectively, in 2023. The list of goods includes everything from pharmaceutical products to cars and food. Major impacts are coming thanks to the new tariffs.

For years, former Black Panthers have feared that the FBI is still keeping tabs on them decades after its notorious COINTELPRO program.

Malik Rahim had never been able to prove he was targeted. Now, government docs show he was correct.
