I WISH Nigel Farage would have to resign over this, but he won’t, eh. The Farages, Trumps, Johnsons etc. of the world just don’t have to meet the same standards as most people, even most politicians. So obvious. So tiresome.

Sad to learn yesterday that Susan Vale, an unassuming, daft, extremely likeable comedian, equally at home doing a surprise end-of-set tap dance or a killer pun, died yesterday. I’d not seen her for a while but she played @xsmalarkey.com regularly back in the day. She was a very nice, kind woman.

TW: running. Let’s call it an organic progression run. (Yes, not quite, but I took time crossing two big roads in mile four)

I’d like to bend time so that a) the Trump era is long over and b) Shakespeare’s written a play about it, summing it up nicely and neatly critiquing human folly along the way.

It’s a cold and frosty morning, but it feels like there’s a hint of spring in the air. From the sound of things, the birds agree.

I don’t believe Trump gets what tariffs are and how they work.

PERFORMERS - do you need help with your show? I have currently got space for one or two new clients. I love directing, and I’m good at it - but don’t take my word for it; references available on request. Get in touch. And spread the word.

So cold at @hampsteadheathparkrun today - and ICY; bit of a rink down by the boating pond. Lovely, mind. Well done, fellow parkrunners and -walkers, thank you marshals. Anybody find my wristband?

In Germany between the wars, leader-sanctioned violent thuggery was at the very heart of the rise of the right. It always is; it’s a weak man thing. ICE just aren’t as smartly dressed.

Merry Christmas, one and all; ten minutes left, and I find myself flying solo. What do I do? Let me rephrase; what on earth do I eat and/or drink next?

Today we saw Its A Wonderful Life at the cinema, like we do every Christmas, and I thought I might be a bit over it… It was so fantastic; I cried all the way through. ‘Best film ever made’, contended my daughter, and she might be on to something.

Now, I understand that language grows and shifts and changes, but to ‘gift’ a gift is a useless, advertisers’ coinage and I can’t stand it. I won’t accept it and neither should you.
