I love realizing I forgot something critical while boarding an 8:14 NE Regional, so I bike home, grab it, bike back from Dupont in 9 minutes and hop on a just-booked 8:40 NextGen Acela for less than double my original fare, then use an about-to-expire upgrade coupon for First Class.

You pick a leader (say, Harriet Tubman) and then you pick an ancient civilization. Then, everyone enters a second era at the same time and “evolves” to a new set of “exploration era” civs. Repeat in modern age.

Some evolutions are logical (Rome>Norman>England) but it’s weird:

Absolutely. Growing up on the Hill, we just drove EVERYWHERE. Dinner in Arlington or Alexandria was the closest trip. Like 10 min on the highway.

I vaguely remember the Hill in the early 2000s. It was emptier. Smaller.

The population was literally bottomed out in the 90s in the 500ks. It was just emptier. Which lent itself to drivable vibes. I do think the modern conception of DC as a walkable connected fabric is 2000s on.

Nobody cares about the victims in the Dallas ICE shooting apparently. The first I've heard about one of them was on CNN today. He's fighting for his life in the hospital --- he was brought to the US when he was 13. He's 33 now. No criminal record.

I just don't know what to say anymore.

Loved this question, did some thinking/googling old WaPo headlines. I think it's probably something like:

1. MCI Center opens
2. 1997-2004 ridership gains, tourism boom, Williams elected, crime drops
3. New York Avenue station opens.

At the end of that stretch its clear

My point is that the meaning of using helldivers is not clear at all. it could mean he's a fascist who embraces the game, or it could mean he's not a fascist who embraces the game. i don't think we know.
