Tech Workers Are Condemning ICE Even as Their CEOs Stay Quiet
The killing of George Floyd in 2020 prompted a wave of statements from tech companies and CEOs. Today, pushback against ICE is largely coming from employees, not executives. #RobinGood #ICEOUT

Ice is being funded 18 BILLION PER YEAR!! Your money working for you?

In the past 5yrs they have murdered over 300 people in the streets.

They admit over 70% being held in camps have no criminal background.
Still they rape, torture and murder them.

Big Budget Act Creates a “Deportation-Industrial Complex”
The result will be a lopsided, enforcement-only machine that will be hard to dismantle.

Supreme Court is allowing mail in ballots to be challenged again. If there even is an election in 2028, the results will be forfeit. The foxes have been in control of the henhouse for too long. The fact that they got there in the first place was a testament to the idea that no one wanted to stop it.

Lack of Support Services
Despite a few notable organizations in Chicago, there is still a lack of comprehensive services and spaces where trans people can feel supported, safe, and heard.

I find it racist that Black trans women are being left without heat and people are not rushing to help. When a group that already faces constant violence, poverty, and neglect is ignored in moments of basic survival, that is not accidental it reflects whose lives are valued and whose are not.

Black people are often present in mutual aid only as labor or symbolism. Black organizers are expected to educate, organize, and rescue others, while their own material needs go unmet. Black suffering becomes background noise to a movement that claims solidarity but avoids accountability. #mutulaid
January 12, 2026 at 4:13 AM
There is also a political avoidance at work. Many mutual aid groups refuse to name anti-Blackness, policing, or capitalism as root causes of suffering. They focus on feel good distribution without confronting why Black people are disproportionately in need. #MutualAidAccountability
January 12, 2026 at 12:34 AM
Mutual aid in the United States was built by Black people out of necessity. Enslaved people pooled food, money, and care to survive. lodges, and neighborhood networks provided, childcare, housing, and protection when no one else would.
January 12, 2026 at 12:32 AM
Mutual aid is often praised as radical, community centered, and justice oriented. But in practice, much of what is now called “mutual aid” is not reaching Black people especially poor, disabled, unhoused, and criminalized Black communities. This is not a misunderstanding or a lack of awareness..

The pattern
These stories differ in names, cities, and dates but they share the same ending
No charges
No transparency
No accountability
Lives reduced to case numbers That’s how injustice survives not always loudly, but consistently. #StateViolence

“The protester”
She was exercising her right to protest. A rubber bullet took her eye. The department said force was “necessary to restore order.” The officer’s name was never released. She will need care for the rest of her life. #CivilRights #JusticeNotSilence

“Resisting”
Video shows him standing still, hands visible. The report says he resisted arrest. The charges were dropped but only after months in jail. His job was gone. His record wasn’t fully cleared. No officer was disciplined for filing a false report. #MassIncarceration #NoOneAboveTheLaw

The wrong house
Police broke down the door at 3 a.m. Guns drawn. Flashbang. Screaming. They had the wrong address. The homeowner was shot while reaching for his phone. The department apologized The officers faced no charges. The family lost the house paying legal bills. #StopKillingUs #StateViolence

The traffic stop
He was pulled over for a broken taillight. He never got a ticket because he never made it home. The officer said he “feared for his life.” The dash cam malfunctioned. The body cam turned on late. No weapon was found.

When the state can kill with near impunity, it sends a dangerous message that some lives are disposable. Democracies depend on the idea that no one is above the law especially those authorized to use force. #JusticeForVictims #AccountabilityNow

Police departments and federal agencies frequently investigate themselves.
These investigations are slow, opaque, and rarely result in serious discipline.
For ICE and Border Patrol, internal reviews are often classified or partially hidden from the public. #injustice

If someone can walk away from abolitionist rhetoric without it affecting their housing, safety, healthcare, or future, then their “radicalism” is theoretical at best. Too often, wealthy figures are celebrated for saying the right things while continuing to hoard resources .
January 10, 2026 at 10:02 PM
Movements don’t need polished spokespeople. They need redistribution, humility, and leadership from those most impacted. If you’re a millionaire and serious about these politics, you don’t need applause. You need to give up power, give up money, and get out of the way. #CenterTheImpacted

Movements are built by people with skin in the game those facing incarceration, eviction, criminalization, and state violence. When we elevate wealthy “radicals,” we crowd out directly impacted organizers and normalize a version of liberation that asks nothing of those with the most to give.
January 10, 2026 at 9:57 PM
When someone is a millionaire and still positioning themselves as a moral authority on abolition, mutual aid, or anti-capitalism, there’s an unavoidable contradiction. Not necessarily because wealth automatically makes someone evil but

When we face dangerous or uncertain times, it becomes even more important to turn toward one another rather than inward. Fear and instability can make the world feel smaller and harsher, but community has the power to widen our perspective and remind us that we are not alone. #InSolidarity
