We cleared the first hurdle!
We're happy to report that the PA Environmental Quality Board voted in favor of studying Shades Creek in Luzerne County to see if it meets the Exceptional Value criteria, which is the first step in eventually granting the EV status itself for better stream protections.

The 'Founding Fish" of the Delaware River isn't sustainable—births are not outpacing deaths. And while the oxygen dead zone at the end of the River may be getting fixed, there's still other problems that Shad may face—warming waters, dams, and intakes.
