The afternoon before the move I was told I’d have to make a 3-hour round trip to pick up the van and trailer, rather than the original pickup location only 3 minutes away.

Then my movers canceled the morning of, so I had to hire a short-notice crew at more than twice the price.

I have settled behind the Cheddar Curtain after four months of living in the land of Ben & Jerry’s. Vermont is a nice place to visit, but it’s tough to live there.

I accepted a position that puts me back near Chicago, back near places and people that I enjoy. Money will be a bit better, too.
