i'm fully aware that a lot of the sex in fanfic isn't meant to accurately portray the ins and outs of sex, it's sexual fantasy and that's a totally valid and fine thing to make or have exist. there's nothing wrong with it. but i do think that a lot of people don't necessarily recognize that.

honestly i can definitely see the preoccupation with penetration as a heteronormative / heterocentric thing, because i know a pretty significant number of queer men who don't enjoy or regularly have penetrative sex, or don't have it often, or can't have it at all for various reasons.
I love queer fic obvs but I do get a bit frustrated with what I regard as a heterocentric preoccupation with holes being filled. There's SO many more ways to get one's rocks off, and to many of us, they're not merely relegated to foreplay IRL.
