Yes... Iran.

#NoElbows
The reports of violence, arbitrary arrests, and intimidation tactics by the Iranian regime against its own people are profoundly concerning. Canada strongly condemns the killing of protesters, and urges Iran to allow for freedom of expression and peaceful assembly without fear of reprisal.

P3s are a scam to divert public funds into private pockets. They are legalized looting of state wealth and leave us with contractors who just refuse to provide any kind of public accountability when they don't provide the service they are so richly paid for.

Listening to Fantasies by Metric for the first time in a while and this album goes so hard. Gold Guns Girls is such a banger. One of the best concerts I've ever been was a 20th anniversary concert for Fantasies where Metric played the whole album in order.

Carney isn't just failing Canada, he's failing the world. If we don't stand for democracy and a rules-based international order, why would any other country come to Canada's defence when we need it?

Mark Carney's defenders will say he's wise to be cautious because a strong statement from Canada against US unlawful aggression might result in the US going after us...

Mark Carney is actually with these leaders in person today. Did they not want him to sign on to this statement or did he not want to?

Is the Canadian PM's strategy to keep his head down and hope Trump doesn't notice him?

Unless the "interim governing structure" is 'the Maduro regime run by Delcy Rodriguez,' they're gonna have a hard time governing much.

Either that or they have some invading to do. It is robustly unclear to me what they think they are doing or if they know.

For nonlawyers, it’s worth noting that statements like this have—as a formal matter—important legal effects as a matter of international law. If such statements are *not* made, and in volume, future arguments that Trump’s invasion sets a legal precedent will stand on much firmer legal ground.

This is shamefully weak. The USA has engaged in a grossly illegal and unethical action, and should be condemned for that, not this mealy mouthed "respect for international law" nonsense.

It seems strange to me that anyone was giving any credence to what Trump was saying would happen after the blatantly illegal abduction of Maduro. Trump says a lot of things will happen! Most of them never come to pass. This is just the international rogue state version of infrastructure week.
Plot development: Contrary to the impression Trump gave, the VP of Venezuela strikes a defiant tone, says they will not become a vassal state, pledges to defend the country, demands Maduro's release, says he is the legitimate head of the country. 🧵
VP Delcy Rodriguez, whom Trump indicated earlier today was collaborating with the US government, is live on television right now.

Earlier reports that she's in Russia are false. She's in Caracas with the rest of the cabinet.

The members who did the "don't follow illegal orders" video absolutely need to immediately do a "hey these were the illegal orders we were talking about and participating in them can expect to face consequences to the fullest extent of the law" video
Uniformed military are involved in this shambolic behavior and they all need to be held to account

A primary goal of the discussion now on dragging dem pols to do the right thing has to be on widespread accountability and where appropriate prosecutions of significant numbers of servicemembers

Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.
