There’s nothing wrong with healthy living.

It just won’t prevent disability. It won’t make you bulletproof.

Telling people to “get healthier” if they want to afford healthcare is effectively telling sick people to accept being left to die.

Healthcare for all.

Human populations are exploding. We've added 800M new humans since Paris 2015. 10% more humans in 10 years. Children now.

We lose min 6% of insect biomass in protected nature reserves. 50% of global biomass loss in 10 years. The stuff on the right disappears faster than our populations & GDPs grow.

I’m still thinking about “quiet, piggy.” No president should be able to speak to a member of the press that way and remain president. That moment encapsulates how vile, misogynistic, and horrible that man is.

Next on my to read list- Greg Egan‘s Perihelion Summer

I’ve enjoyed Egan since I picked up Perturbation City back in 1999 at the Uni of Western Australia bookstore. I’d never read sci-fi that was so hard on the Science piece before.

Natural product molecules have the wildest functionalities. Who comes up with this stuff?
Molecule of the Week: Corynoxine A
Isolated from the kratom tree Mitragyna speciosa, Corynoxine A is a natural autophagy enhancer that promotes the clearance of alpha-synuclein via the Akt/mTOR pathway.

I was just wondering how Elysis was doing with its inert anode aluminum reduction technology (which would save about 2 t CO2 per tonne aluminium made), and low and below, they've just successfully started one up #greenaluminum . www.riotinto.com/en/can/news/...

During bad previous mass #extinction events it took 30 millions for Gaia to recover. Today's mass extinction is 100 times worse (faster) than any previous mass extinction over the last 600 million years. We are in uncharted territory today and have no historic comparison anymore. Since 2015 🚀

We do not speak the truth and hence can’t act as if the truth is true. We are running into fire and towards extinction.
