Marty McFly rocks out with a Velociraptor as Doc Brown meets a Carnotaurus in the distance. Their Time Machine is in the foreground. That’s actually a relatively small Playmobil Time Machine using a little trick called forced perspective. “What’s that?”, you ask? Well, forced perspective is a method used to trick the eyes or a camera into believing objects or distances are different than they are. The Hobbits in Lord of the Rings often used this trick. Disney parks are loaded with this type of illusion! Oh. You meant “what is Playmobil?” Playmobil is basically Lego made for German kids that are too good to get their precious hands dirty by building anything. I actually LOVED assembling this DeLorean. The sound and feel of the wheels precisely clicking into place with German engineering was borderline orgasmic. The stickers were beautifully crisp, too. The Playmobil figures are pretty ugly, I feel. These NECA BttF figures? Pretty nice. Lots of relevant accessories, like each figure is a little trip to a souvenir shop for the movie.
