I was given to understand that the president's son getting a job with a company doing business before the government was an impeachable offense

Trump said he deserved a cut for brokering the TikTok deal, and at once there was agreement that his son Baron would have a top executive slot... though he hasn't asked for it, and has no apparent qualifications to hold it. This is how Trump 2.0 works. www.telegraph.co.uk/us/news/2025...

Pope Leo says Catholic politicians must be judged on the full range of their policy positions.

Pope Leo XIV says 'inhuman treatment of immigrants' in the U.S. isn't 'pro-life'
Pope Leo XIV weighed in on U.S. politics, saying that Catholic politicians must be judged on the full range of their policy positions and suggesting that the country's immigration policy is "inhuman."

The Trump admin just admitted — in a buried Labor Dept. filing — that its own immigration crackdown is hurting farmers and driving up food prices. The report warns the “near total cessation” of migrant labor is threatening “the stability of domestic food production.” F***ing DUH.

I would gladly and enthusiastically donate to a fund for more costumes for protesters. We need to build our own wall... of frogs, unicorns, chickens, sharks, chipmunks -- you name it!

Just a reminder that Wikipedia is the only remaining reliable source of information that right wing billionaires can't control. (Although they'll never stop trying.)

Please donate to them whenever you can. Even a little bit helps.

Trump told Hegseth to pay the troops, but he is not authorized to pay the troops. But looks bad when our military has to line up at food banks while construction is continuing on Trump's $200Million ballroom.

Unconstitutionally taking money that the law says must be spent on one purpose & using it for something else—when it's to establish personalist control over the FUCKING MILITARY—is about as dangerous a constitutional crisis/failure as you can imagine

The Office of Management and Budget sent a notification to Congress about their intent to use research and development funds to pay members of the military, two sources with direct knowledge tell NBC News.

A spokesperson for the OMB confirmed to NBC News that it plans to use the research and development funds and that there are two years' worth of funds available within the Department of Defense.

1) In a press conference yesterday, Trump justified calling troops into Chicago by saying, "Do you know they had over 4000 people killed in Chicago... they had 4000 people murdered over a very short period of time."

Where did he get that number? Funny answer...

I think one of the most disorienting things about the Trump era, particularly Trump 2.0, is the realization that the rules, laws, norms, institutions that you believed to be “real,” are anything but. It’s like realizing that gravity does not exist.

Turns out protest alone was never what changed things, it was protest *plus media coverage of protests*, which prompted officials to respond to protests, which increased public awareness of protests, etc.

If the protest happens & corporate media simply ignores it ... it's inert.

Six out of eight of the largest mass-movement protests in US history have happened since 2017. You wouldn't know this from most media reporting, and you sure af wouldn't know this from the way either major party has reacted.

He was helping sell fruit and asked to go to the restroom—by the time she was done helping a customer he was gone.
