This is funny (and obviously kinda bait-y) because like lmao bring it on? Some of us went through KotakuInAction and all that. nothing phases me man, I'm a rock

but most of all it just shows a fundamental misunderstanding of criticism. which I believe is a kind thing

for me it was the fact that the author is one of the main driving forces behind the global movement to kill my trans friends and erase their existence

hope that helps

Younger generations “have fallen out of love with Harry Potter because they have fallen out of love with the worldview the series represents,” writes Louise Perry. “Which is to say that young people have fallen out of love with liberalism.”

Damon Lindelof complained about me and sent hosts of nerds to harass me, and Bobby Kotick tried to sue me. are these considered parasocial grudges or real?
i think it's important to be as nice as you can to people you know but to hold a few really deep parasocial grudges. i picked jj abrams. that's my nemesis. him and jonathan blow.

"just-" hey what if existing companies that were founded to produce writing about culture and society stopped firing people they paid to write about culture and society actually

had the honor to be a part of this piece’s journey and watch it take shape. we all know Ashley is a tremendous writer, and she just continues to raise the bar with each new piece 💜 so proud to see one of my besties thrive and change the game
For the first Stop Caring piece of the year, it is my honor and pleasure to welcome @ashlikeadragon.bsky.social to the site. She wrote about Depression Quest, Hanif Abdurraiq's On Seatbelts and Sunsets, and struggling with depression.

The gold standard to what a personal essay should be.

And damn it, we are gonna figure something out, if it takes me all night.

back in high school, i got in an argument with my libertarian IB History teacher because, according to him, American hadn’t been in a “war” since Korea — only “conflicts.”

semantics will be always try to hide and justify unjust military action. the only words i have are shame and embarassment

The cultural impact of Rob Reiner cannot be understated. Legend isn't big enough a word. It goes to 11. You can't handle the truth. As you wish. I'll have what she's having. I'm your number one fan. You guys wanna see a dead body? The very idea of a bucket list. The West Wing.

All from his movies.

fuck. my favorite movie for years and years was The Princess Bride. still is. When Harry Met Sally is one of the most perfect romcoms of all time. i don’t even know how to process this.

when I briefly worked at a Valnet site, I grilled the EiC about why he allowed so many articles about TERF game. he gave me some bullshit too stupid to remember, then said “but we protect our trans writers.”

so this article isn’t shocking. it is reprehensible. it’s easy to have morals in journalism

if you’re going to write a list of the Best Movies of the Year, please make sure you know film history, because saying British horror started in the 2000s when The Wicker Man and decades of folk and urban horror are RIGHT THERE is fucking embarrassing for everyone.

engage with the past! please!
