The setting is a warm evening in a cosy medieval stone hovel. Gilnor's breath caught in his throat. It was a lute. Carved and shaped from wood by what must've been a far from cheap artisan. It was clearly new, but the stain that had been added to it gave it a rustic charm, along with the elegant patterns around the main body of the instrument. On the neck near the head, was a pretty red and gold gift ribbon. The tiefling couldn't move. He was simply stuck, staring with surprise at the lute, his mouth hanging ajar. Halla chuckled at the look on his face, and then gently offered the lute towards him. His hands itched to take it, but they hovered uncertainly. "Halla this…" he started but failed to finish. She chuckled at him again, warm and friendly. She made the same motion again, and this time, it urged him to take the offered instrument. "I don't think I've ever seen you so speechless before," she said. "I hope that doesn't mean you hate it…"

Thoughts about “AI” Yes it’s: The slop The theft The brainrot The loss of work The crumbling of creator rights The destroying of the environment and infrastructure But it's also the destroying of trust in anything that you’re not seeing with your own eyes right in front of you. Wonder now turned to the narrowing of eyes in immediate scepticism seeing something magical. Questioning the realness of everything from a stilted written apology to profound works by students in school. It feels like a slow poison to creativity and humanity at large.
