Everything is political. If you’re here, you’re familiar with the abuse and coercive control I highlight in marriages/post-separation & divorce.

When you’re dealing with divorce and an abusive ex, it’s no wonder your brain feels overloaded. It’s not because you’re failing — it’s because you’re doing too much with too little support.

This post is a reminder that even if you’re stuck in the mental fog, you’re not broken.

This is your regular reminder that JD Vance & Project 2025 want to end No-Fault Divorce.

Take care of it before they take it away - several states already have it in the works

And change back to your maiden name in case they shove through the SAVE Act & try to take away your right to vote as well.

Missing an ex after a breakup is normal, but it’s important to remember the negative experiences. If there’s concern for safety, working with a domestic violence advocate to create a plan—including legal protections—can help ensure a safe and clean break.

Ask Amanda: Should I Text My Ex?
Texting your ex is probably never a good idea when he showed red flags of abuse.

When both parties are issued protective orders, the true victim faces increased risks, including harassment, false accusations and legal consequences. This can also endanger involved children and lead to severe emotional and practical repercussions.

“I loathe the idea that, if they are abused, an already dismissive justice system will be an even less reliable ally, especially as Trump will appoint more judges over the next four years.”

Abuse doesn’t usually start with yelling or obvious aggression.

It more often than not starts quietly:

*You stop texting your best friend because it “upsets” the abuser.

*You start avoiding family because the abuser claims they’re “too dramatic” or “disrespectful.”

Art has a long history as a form of resistance.

When words don’t feel safe, are hard to find, or aren’t enough, creativity can be a quiet but powerful response to difficult times - a way to reclaim space and your voice, even when the world feels out of control. #artasresistance

Art has been a big part of my healing from trauma and abuse.

I think everyone can benefit from an art practice, but I know it can feel intimidating or inaccessible for many.

So I put together 5 art practices for healing that are helpful whether you feel creative or not.

🗣️This is your weekly reminder that Project 2025 and JD Vance want to end No-Fault Divorce, in addition to taking away your right to vote.

Please get your things in order and leave while you still can.

This is not hyperbole. You’ve witnessed the last month…
Republican women voted for Trump, believing complicity would save them.

But now MAGA men are pushing conservative women out of leadership, de facto legalizing abuse, and signaling that the era of "chivalry" will be replaced with the era of eating shit.

"A woman is like a child": MAGA turns its sights on stripping Republican women of power
Conservative women believe complicity will save them, but an emboldened far-right is gunning for their rights

I mean, come on — Health? Reproductive right?
This article is alarming but not surprising given the entire MAGA/Project 2025 is based on their perceived victimization.

Hatred of DEI is as much abt male supremacy as it is about white supremacy.

I’ll continue to highlight these connections because advocating against abuse means addressing systems that uphold it.

If that makes some people uncomfortable, or say I’m being divisive so be it - this work isn’t about making anyone comfortable.

It’s about confronting abuse, wherever it lives.

Right now, politicians with credible allegations (and even convictions) of sexual abuse and coercive control are being elevated to power. This is a direct threat to women and children, and ignoring it only perpetuates harm.

But I also want to be clear: we can’t tackle these issues on a personal level without calling out the systems that enable them. That includes churches, governments, and other institutions.

This admin and its enablers lie when they tell you they are all about protecting children.
New — The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) was told this week by DOJ that they'd lose their funding if the org didn't remove any mentions of LGBTQIA+ issues from their public materials, I've learned. Staff were told they need to deadname trans kids in their reports to comply.

An attack on women’s access to paid work.
nativist populism, except it's the world's richest man, a foreigner, unconstitutionally witholding congressionally appropriated funds for American preschoolers
If you are in domestic abuse awareness and advocacy circles and support this admin, I have questions.
