George Etzweiler, a regular in my local running community who was still running the Mt. Washington Road Race in his 90s and as part of a relay team for the Tussey Mountainback as a centenarian, died at 105. I was honored to interview him once and it was a joy to see him out running the forest roads.

Terrible news for area studies and for our country.
Since the 1950s, Summer Language Workshops at Indiana University have provided training in Russian, East European, and Central Asian languages. Generations have come to Bloomington to study Romanian, Polish, Kazakh, etc.
