So much incredible library organizing in Texas documented in this film. And also, the state library association canceled my planned visit and directed me not to cross into the state during my year. I published Queering the Catalog in 2013.

Thanks--I appreciate that a lot. <3

Contract in hand, revisions due in three months. Getting there, but it's been surprisingly painful.
"In their words and drawings, they convey how much they ache for creature comforts and describe the anguish of being trapped. They write about missing their friends and teachers, falling behind at school, having unreliable access to medical care when they’re sick...and feeling scared."

It's been interesting to think about how this movie is and isn't about my experience. I'm not in it, nobody has asked me to speak or write about it, it's almost like what happened to me never happened. Except that Iowa extremists are attacking libraries because 'ALA wants to queer the catalog.'

When I tell you it involved the registrar and a legacy process…. 🥵

Just banked a bureaucratic win that was my first priority when I stepped in as chair, the kind that is both boring and tedious and the exciting and transformative. I’m taking the huge win!!

Unclear.

These are not serious people.

Library workers, library patrons, students of all ages, moms and dads and grownups of all kinds, have been organizing against book bans in this district for years, some of the most inspiring people I’ve met.
Taylor Rehmet's win in a Texas state senate shocked pundits.

But, as I found in interviews with people close to the ground, it's not so surprising.

A lot of it is about the books bans. People hate the book bans. Even some Republicans! An analysis.

Forcing Skubal to arbitration when you clearly have the cash to spend is such a boneheaded move. #BaseballFilter #IsItSpringYet
