there's no ideology of empire or nationalism or anything to disguise it. it's just survival

now this self-awareness is limited to the pope, but laterano also has a level of control of its citizens way beyond other places on terra. it also draws the harshest lines between in-group and out-group

very curious what the masses' travels event will tell us about laterano.. imo laterano is really interesting because it's the only society in arknights where the story explicitly spells out on screen that its *only* prime objective is to continue existing

(not counting seaborn here)
