FIFA must drop their sponsorship with Saudi Aramco, the biggest oil company in the world. They should not be promoting the burning of more fossil fuels during a climate crisis.

The inevitable has happened. Saudi will host World Cup 2034. It is the greediest, most polluting, destructive, & corrupt decision in sporting events history. For those of us who support human rights and believe in climate action now, how do we fight back? 🌍⚽️🔥✊️

Sport, especially international sport, will always have a significant carbon footprint. The very least that sporting institutions and governing bodies can do is not take money from the fossil fuel industry that is most to blame for catastrophic climate change.

More burning of fossil fuels = more extreme weather via climate change = less football (especially at grassroots level) & more dangerous conditions for players and fans.
