Our New Orleans library system loans yard tools that residents can use to keep the storm drain near their home clear of debris. Because here, good drainage is a must!

One of Trump’s favorite mottos is “everything for me, and nothing for thee”

Thank you @markjacob.bsky.social for this meme with a serious message.
Picture of a tower with multiple loudspeakers atop.
Caption: “DEAR AMERICANS WAITING FOR THE SIRENS TO GO OFF AND LOUDSPEAKERS TO ANNOUNCE THAT THE FASCIST OVERTHROW OF YOUR COUNTRY IS UNDERWAY, THERE WON’T BE ANY SIRENS OR LOUDSPEAKERS. IT’S HAPPENING NOW. GET YOUR ASSES IN GEAR BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE. SINCERELY, MARK JACOB.”

Yeah. I hate it too.

If you have an older machine it might be the tension screw on the bobbin that needs your attention…

If you look closely, you can see signs of GOP lawmakers fearing the long-term political consequences of paying more attention to Trump's demands than to the voices of their own constituents - or consciences.

This one was made with mesh too. It’s sparkly.

It seemed like the thing that threw them off was that it wasn’t waterproof. But you can certainly line it with a paper towel and use it for chips, or you can throw your car keys and stuff like that in them, use them to catch stuff on the bathroom vanity. Almost anything except soup.😂

This one was made with that mesh.

Same for me. I make rope bowls
sometimes and sold some at a neighborhood craft sale. There were people who would come up and hold the bowls and turn them over and look at them and say “but what could you use this for?“

If you don’t want to cut your rope in the middle of your project, you’ll need to put all of this mesh on the rope that you think you want to use before you start. Just put three or four packs of it on there, and then you just can just pull it up as you need it. You’ll see what I mean.

Here’s a tip… on the one with the coffee pods, that brown part was done by putting the rope through this “mesh tube “stuff before sewing. I got this at Dollar tree. You slide it through there and hold it tight as you sew. It comes in several colors, but I like the fact that this looks like jute.

Here’s a couple that I just use around the house. The purple one was an early creation and it’s pretty rough, but we use it every day for chips, etc either a paper towel in it. It’s been through the washing machine at least twice.

I love putting my little creations to practical use.

Thanks so much! I know it seems weird to put watercolors on a page called “tranquil stitching“ but that’s the page I have so….

I’m just trying to do stuff to keep myself sane. 😂

The little charm is a thrifted earring. 😂😂

Thanks! For this one I deconstructed a Pottery Barn pillow sham and used that fabric. I like repurposing stuff when I can.
