the question to ask about this is, okay, he wants to cancel the midterms. how does he get the VA state board of elections to cancel the midterms? how does he get the georgia board of elections to do it? how does he convince republican house members to quit their jobs and give up their paychecks?
Trump says a lot of deranged shit, but, per this Reuters article — and the threats of invoking the Insurrection Act in Minnesota this morning — he is very clearly exploring how to cancel the midterms.

Even The Atlantic, which is owned and published by Laurene Powell Jobs—the widow of Steve Jobs—can’t get an answer from Apple about why they haven’t yet taken down Grok/X. I really don’t know what the fuck we are doing here. Is Tim Cook in a cave? Has anybody seen him to ask him this question?
There is a crisis of impunity. The Musk/Grok stuff is just one f many examples of people who are counting on there never being any consequences. And it all makes me just incandescently mad.

Oops, all war crimes.
Six-byline alert: 🚨

“.. laws of armed conflict forbid combatants from feigning civilian status to fool adversaries into dropping their guard, then attacking and killing them. That is a war crime called ‘perfidy.’”

I ask this every now and then and I’ve yet to get a good answer.

How long does it take for people to realize they’re on the wrong side of history?

My wife: “Thanks, Charlie Brown.”
Me: “Why am I Charlie Brown?”
Her: “You’re a good man!”
Me: “Charlie Brown’s a sad sack who always gets taken advantage of! I’m cool, like Schroeder or Snoopy.”
Three year old: “Or Mario!”

My 2025 Awards Eligibility!
Christmas, the season of hope. Across the land, the Nebulas are dusting off their shelves, and the Hugo Awards are awakening from their year-long slumber, and writers everywhere are beginning to remember that, yes, they did write things during this awful year and yes they DO deserve awards for this! And so they scurry off to their newsletters and their barren blogospheres and their half-assed websites and write posts like this one, in the slim hope that people out there have recognized their labors and appreciated them and are willing to tell their friends about their books.

Would you rather fight 30 toddler sized lightsabers or one Death Star sized toddler?
Y'ever think about that insanely stupid bit in Attack of the Clones where the Jedi kids are training with toddler lightsabers? And yet the kids are helpless in Episode 3 when Anakin purges the temple. Go grab those lil' baby lightsabers, kids! It's like 30 on 1. That's approaching a fair fight.
