Its gonna be a whole ass problem some day. 😂

However, she couldn't simply just.. sign away on his terms. She needed her own.

So, she figured, a counter offer was in order.

She wasn’t exactly known to be the most charitable person, after all. She couldn't shake that Luna may be right..
But she /could/ help people.

Maybe in ways that weren’t so clear yet or how.
But, it made sense.
doctorsimcraft.bsky.social
What more could she want? How was adoration NOT enough?

It’s not like ferrying souls to the underworld was exactly a celebrated profession. Well, maybe by her sisters, parents, and Grandmothers.
But, really the only flowers in that career are the ones left on graves…

Bored.

She sighed, perhaps discontent was a better word she could stomach. She could admit Luna was right, but not anyone else.

To be made listless by endless roses and standing ovations? She stared out at the glow of the opera house. She had to be the most insufferable person she knew.

They’d be going on a tour soon.
How could she possibly make the time between all the things to see, people to meet? And more concerning, she thought, was why was she even considering the logistics?
Unless of course it wasn’t enough.. If it wasn't then that would mean she was in fact..

Sure, she didn’t need the job.
Theodora was quite self-sufficient on her own.
And just fine with her own stubborn outlook on life being her way or no way. Call it perfectionist, over-achieving, first born child syndrome at its finest.
But she also may have been calling it; Well enough.

Theodora quieted.
“I just know you could really help people, Theo. Don’t forget, my mom was in that maze too. And now, because of you, she’s finally at rest.” Luna encouraged gently.

Silence.
L: “Now lets go pretend we can cook, burn something, then ask the neighbors for dinner! Yay!”

L: “I just… I just know you’re going to limit yourself..."
T: “I use magic all the time.”
“Yes, sure. And all the furniture those random men have bought us is concerning.”
“And the shoes? So many shoes.”

Luna sighed, “Listen, even if this may seem like an unconventional way…”

Luna took in a deep nervous breath, “Well, you know there’s really only a few directions for us after the next generation of ballerinas take over. And we only have so long-”
“Why is everyone so focused on what’s next?!" Theodora’s brow furrowed.
“Yes! I know-"
"We *just* got here!"
doctorsimcraft.bsky.social
“Then why are you mulling over a response?” Luna cringed, "I mean you didn't say you didn't WANT-"
“I’m currently drafting my rejection letter.”
“I know we may have lightly broached this subject but you ARE allowed to want more.”

Theo spun the pen between her fingers, “More than what?”
doctorsimcraft.bsky.social
Luna blinked, “OH? Wow, again? He seems serious about getting you on board. Surely you could do both?”
T: “Oh, I could easily do both.”
L: “Weeeeeeeeeell? Then what’s the problem?”

Theo pursed her lips for a moment, “I don’t need it.”

Theo rolled her eyes, “And it's unpaid. Seriously, why would I even bother if there's zero motivation to do so?”
“I heard they have dental?” Johnny shrugged, "So the benefits may be kinda nice?"

“Johnny. Please. I’m a Goth, I don’t need benefits. I inherited those at birth.”

“I just have another job in the same building as him. Well, the building he owns.” Johnny pouted, his bones cracking as he lurched over her vanity, “What does he always try to leave that makes you so prickly?”
“Take a look.” She waved her hand.
"...A grimtern contract?"
doctorsimcraft.bsky.social
“You work for Grim?” Theodora remained unamused, “And this whole time I thought we were friends. Friends who are /honest/ with each other?"
“And you almost sold me out to the unicyclists!"

“But I was honest about it, Johnny.” She scoffed, "Duh."
