Week 61 of #showmeyourknits is show me something that brings you JOY 🎉 or that you have #knit to CARE 💕 for others.
Each year I make teacher gifts during the holidays to show my appreciation for my kid’s teachers. These little cable trees are ones I made last year.

We’re on week 60 of #showmeyourknits 🧶 and the theme is #autumn ! My favorite season partially because it means time to wear knits again! This #ColdPineShawl by Caitlin ffrench is a go-to in my wardrobe.

Reminds me of stained glass in churches while driving up for an autumn bike ride in the Northeast Kingdom. Love this so much! ❤️

So true! Then we were so excited that our flip phones could take a picture we completely ignored how crappy they were compared to those cameras!. 😂

#ShowMeYourKnits week 59: show me your scarves

This striped scarf is still kicking around since 2009. One solid blue skein and a fun Noro Silk Garden Lite to create the gradient.

Probably my fastest time yet!

Time for another round of ‘What’s on Your Needles?’ 🧶Week 58 of #ShowMeYourKnits

I’ve stalled out on this sweater project and grabbed a crochet hook to make a #decahedronstar for a friend’s baby that was born earlier this year. More time for #WIPs as the farm season swings to an end next month!

Sweaters for #showmeyourknits week 57! This time around I’ll share the first custom sized sweater I made at a workshop at @circleofstitches.bsky.social where Ana introduced me to Jane Richmond’s Ladies Classic Raglan Sweater pattern that launched many original designs of mine.

#showmeyourknits week 56 is something you made for a baby and it’s a special one because it was the first non-square thing I knit thinking a baby sock would be easier than other projects 😂

#showmeyourknits Week 55 is #stripes 🧶
Always a fun element in knits. For this #pulloversweater I purled where the arm stripes would go and stitched them in afterwards. Worked great!

Hey, I’m working on one of these right now!

#showmeyourknits week 54 is scraps! The Stash Busting Poncho took care of a lot of extra yarn kicking around.

I love a pattern I can easily remember the repeats of and knit on autopilot. This one is great for that.

#showmeyourknits week 53 is #shawls and I’ve made many. Boneyard Shawl by Stephen West made with Cryptic Hollow Fibers fingering weight in Astral Sea (loved this yarn I got at the 1st Fiber Witch Festival) and Malabrigo Yarn Mechita in Paprika. Love the drape and feel of these yarns.
A shawl is draped over a wooden picket fence that has a red leaved vine crawling on it. The shawl is V shaped and striped with alternating colors of heathered, dark orange and deep purple. The way in which the shawl is draped highlights the point of the V, which is the widest part of the fabric and lays down the center of the image slightly towards the right. It evokes Halloween season in New England.

Happy anniversary #showmeyourknits! It has been a joy to share and search every weekend to see what everyone in this community has created. I love this part of #BlueSky.

For knitter’s choice, I present the Captain Salty and L’il Salt sweaters made for my boys. (Deets in alt text.)
A young boy is standing on a sandy beach at low tide. The ground is flat and rocky dunes can be seen in the background. He is wearing a wide-brimmed natural grass sun hat that frames his face like a halo, tan linen pants rolled up over the ankles, and a stunning hand knit cardigan sweater. The sweater is black with a white bottom hem and large white skull and crossbones knit into the front. They are looking straight at the camera with on hand slightly up and pointing at the ground while the other is relaxed along their side, feet are at a 3/4 angle to the frame of the photo. The bright afternoon light takes a long shadow to the child’s left.

This is the second L’il Salt sweater made for TheKid after they grew out of the toddler sized one. The merino blend used hung so well and wasn’t scratchy so he loved to wear it.

The origin of the words comes from my husband’s childhood. He had a superhero character he made up named Captain Salty. To commemorate this, I included it in a sweater I made him. After our child was born, I made them this matching knit sweater with “L’il Salt” stitched into the back. A man stands with hands on hips and bright smile facing the camera. They are wearing a black, hand crocheted sweater with white skull and crossbones centered on the chest with jeans.

This is the first article of clothing I made! At the time, I crocheted and did not know how to knit so, while fun and my husband loved it, it hung heavy off the shoulders and wasn’t too practical to wear. Especially given we were living in Austin, TX at the time. The back yoke area of a hand crocheted sweater is centered on the frame. The sweater is black and “Cap’t Salty” is emblazoned in red across the entire width of the sweater in a gothic typeface style similar to old English.

#summerknits is the theme for #showmeyourknits this week and it reminds me that I left Odele by Amy Christoffers unfinished years ago. Now I’m inspired to pull it out! www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib...

Blue is the theme for #showmeyourknits and it’s made me realize I haven’t made much with just blue. Which surprises me. Here’s a close up of a scarf made in a broomstick lace pattern. A gift that I never got a proper photo of.

While watching the #tourdefrance recap last night, I explained to my husband what #tourdefleece is and he was surprised and impressed. 😂🧶

Reposting my sweater this week for #showmeyourknits because I’ve worked on the body and frogged back several times experimenting with adding design elements and changing my mind. At this point I’m just going to work it as shaped stockinette and let the cabled sleeve be the main event.

#showmeyourknits is #showmeyourwips this week? I’m very happy to share that I finally hashed out the sleeve on an original #sweaterpattern I’m slowly working on. (The cuff is in the photo when you click on it)

Truth on the stretch! I have to give it a soak to reset it after just a few wears.

#showmeyourknits is #garterstitch edition

This is Flow Sweater by Minimi Knit Design that I test knit for them. Fun, airy and quick pattern to knit up!

#showmeyourknits yellow edition! That time my kid asked me to make his favorite sweater in #animalcrossing and I couldn’t refuse the challenge.

Another oldie but goodie for #showmeyourknits #handmadeblanket edition. This is a #crochet pattern called Sejia Set by Bev Ireland I made back in 2008. This #strollerblanket is designed to tuck around a little one and stay secure via the incorporated hole to clip through shoulder straps.
