BlueSky intro:

I'm Dom. EiC of @vg247.bsky.social, columnist for The Guardian, games media veteran of 12+ years

Previously: B2B consulting, corporate event host, BAFTA speaker, panelist, published author, video editor

Currently: training to be a yoga teacher, writing a games music book, cooking!
Signed up to a new yoga studio. After class, new teacher asked what I do for work. Explained as vaguely and succinctly as I could.

"Ohh, you're a gamer? That must be fun. Is it nice being a gamer?"

I hope I didn't reveal too much of The Horror in my eyes

Somehow had an hour to kill before my yoga session, so walking around the harbour listening to old albums in lossless quality and feeling like the scales have fallen from my eyes (well, ears)

So many textures! So many new details! So many old sounds that sound new! Life is beautiful

Is there any purer joy in life than buying bread from a local bakery and eating it whilst it's still warm?

After a month off and some nonsense health issues, back at a new yoga studio with a new teacher

And nearly a record for a simple hour's vinyasa 💪 feels good to be back in my body properly

A building filled with dreamers.

My favourite thing about the Xbox 360, 20 years on? It did something no other console has managed since.

I have always defended Nioh, and after feeling a bit underwhelmed by Rise of Ronin and Wo Long, I'm pleased to say: we are so back
After five hours, I can confirm that the Nioh 3 alpha was not a good representation of the game: the full thing is far better

Lmao Pope Leo threw a rave for an archbishop's 75th birthday this is kind of incredible

I'm having some chronic arthritic flare ups this week - worst I've ever had - and my GP has been cycling me through sedatives, steroids, painkillers and more to see if anything can bring the pain down.

I DREAD to think how much this would cost in the US. Shoutouts to Bevan and the NHS, seriously

Until tonight, I have never experienced pain that made my ears ring and my vision swim. Worst of my life. Would not wish it on my worst enemy. NHS has been reassuring, if not a bit slow (not their fault). Can't imagine what I'd do if I lived in the US.

Finally accepting that I'm chronically ill enough to need a walking stick. I'm 33, this sucks. But at least there seem to be plenty of cool options out there. Wonder if I can like a Bloodborne one with a chain whip in it...
