All school lunches should be free. And it’s a complete societal failure that they’re not.
The way I was taught history as a child (elem school), I thought MLK lived way in the distant past. I thought I was so far removed from segregation and the civil rights movement.

When I grew up and really studied history, I was shocked to find out MLK was assassinated while my own mother was alive

Porque aqui no quepo yo
Quiero recordarle al gringo: Yo no cruce la frontera, la frontera me cruzo.
America nacio libre, el hombre la dividio.🎶

This student was delighted to know that *this* is the weekend we celebrate MLK 😌
Teaching my 1st graders about 3 Kings day this week and was trying to find out what they already know about the holiday

A girl in the class: that’s when we celebrate the king who helped white people learn they need to be nice to the Black people

Took me a min to realize she was talking about MLK 😆

Just saw an article about an Anti-ICE protest in my state featured a photo with a protester holding a sign that says “No one is illegal on stolen land”.

This MAGA response… he almost gets it…

Now is a really good time to remember that the bots we see on social media do not accurately represent public sentiment

Them after Charlie K*rk’s death: no one deserves to get shot. How dare you celebrate.

Them after Renee Good’s death: she deserves to be shot. Let’s celebrate ICE!

Some people who love to fly the “don’t tread on me” flag really like to celebrate when the government quite literally treads on its own citizens.

“Uruguay did what most nations still call impossible: it built a power grid that runs almost entirely on renewables—at half the cost of fossil fuels. The physicist who led that transformation says the same playbook could work anywhere—if governments have the courage to change the rules.”

I’ve done 31.6 miles outside so far this year and I’m really damn proud of myself.

Getting back into running after a long hiatus is not easy to do when in one’s 40s, but I’m doing it.

Still waiting on the second amendment bros to rise up against the tyrannical government murdering people in broad daylight.

Will die waiting.

It's really interesting to see all the self-proclaimed "DEl experts" pivot to now being "Al experts" who no longer talk about DEl.

I see people posting their reading recaps for the year and saying things like “I didn’t read much this year” or “I *only* read 15 books”.

The fact that you’re reading at all means you’ve read more than the majority of American adults. Be proud!
