The US approach to educating our youth about these topics was already lacking, and any progress that was made in recent years has been removed or threatened by this administration.
But we must keep resisting and teaching truth.

The way we teach history to our children is often such a disservice. We need to be honest and truthful. We need to help them understand the context and the timeframe.

It leads to confusion. Having that disclaimer there lets people know that if they read something that doesn’t seem right, it’s probably a mistranslation and not the intended message. Basically it alerts people to be more sympathetic with their reading

I will say as someone who works in a highly linguistically diverse school, putting in a disclaimer that “this was machine translated” has saved us from a LOT of misunderstandings. Machine translations are often still inaccurate and when students/parents receive info that is mistranslated…
