I mean, last year, their stats were quite comparable:

Gakpo : 49 matches, 18/7 g/a
Diaz: 50 matches, 17/8 g/a

Same for previous seasons:
23/24
G 53, 17/7
D 51, 13/7

22/23
G 50, 20/20
D 21, 5/3

Whilst I understand Lucho is more dynamic on the pitch, Gakpo brings plenty to the team and the pitch.

Nottingham Forest dumping Nuno for Ange was a mistake.

They were on their way up, and execs handed them an anchor and threw them into the ocean. "Swim harder!"

Ange does his one thing. He's shown himself to be stubborn and lacking adaptability. I might be wrong, but it just seems a poor choice.

This year was going to be tough. We knew this. The loss of Diogo was bound to impact player far into the season.

The new players are also coming into that environment. It’s not as easy as some teambuilding and training.

It’s going to take time… give them some grace and love.

Anthony Taylor is honestly the worst. There are have multiple calls (with yellow cards) against Liverpool with ZERO actual contact.

Chelsea is just flopping all over the place trying to pull calls.

I hate seeing him on the pitch.

You’re letting the government manipulate you into lacking humanity and empathy for your fellow humans. Not because they do deserve it but because they differ from you.

But if you support the actions of these extreme examples, you are one of them and part of the bigger problem.

Conservatives joked about the assassination attempt on Paul Pelosi, they joked about the assassination of Melissa Hortman, they set Mormon churches on fire and shoot people while they’re inside.

To judge an ENTIRE group of people on what some are doing IS part of the problem.

Hate to break it to you, but God and Jesus would not support dragging innocent people out of their homes in the middle of the night to arrest them.

They would not support holding a little girl captive from her parents to get them to come outside.

They wouldn’t support racism or xenophobia.

I like this lineup.

I definitely think we need more established LFC players on the pitch. We just don’t sync well yet.

I truly believe they’ll get there, but what’s going on now isn’t working.

The list is much longer than these 6, and there are much stronger people to put in the top six… ones that don’t side with conservatives when discussing trans rights.

I really think they need to have at least two people in the front three that have been here more than a couple months.

I get he’s experimenting, but Wirtz will do better when surrounded by stronger and more settled players.

I disagree. Guehi wants to play. And while he’d come to Liverpool, he wouldn’t be happy warming a bench.

I’d rather not pursue him anyway; I hope we’re considering other additions.

If Guehi comes to Liverpool, he’ll be a replacement for Konate, if Ibou decides to leave.

While I know he wants to leave CP, i don’t see him going from a full-time starter captain position to a rarely played defender.

He’d be even more unhappy.

No, I don’t believe that.

He chooses to surround himself with these people. He is awful. Period.

The people working with him are also awful. Period.

He backed down because of public opinion not because he values the truth or lives.

Whilst today left a lot to be desired, I know we’ll build our syncing up. They just need time to better understand one another.

I wouldn’t have started Wirtz over Gakpo in a league match, but it’s important to experiment.

Remember — we had already lost by this point last year.

What I will say is Allison Becker is a GOD. Without him, that would have been so much worse.

And Federico Chiesa deserves more minutes. That is all.

That’s what happens when you put on a team that doesn’t vibe right together. Crystal Palace were the better team, and while that first corner was questionably given, they absolutely deserved the win. They played better from the start.
