I found myself nodding along at this. Especially the part about the anti-alarmists not having strong values and how they treat everything as a game, even going so far as to use the term NPC to describe anyone that does not look, think, and move like them.

I need a book curation site ala Goodreads that offers a way to filter by ratio of comma to period (and/or the word "and" to period). A high ratio makes the book incredibly hard to read, IME. I constantly have to read each sentence forward and backward to see if I understood everything.

The Final Fantasy IV pixel remaster is such a nostalgia bomb. The updated music is perfect, right in the feels.

I think Indivisible's messaging is unclear in general. Asking us to contact our do-nothing, do-wrong representatives redirects energy away from the plan to primary those representatives, IMO. As the kids say, make it make sense.
A world in which this regime can kill anyone it chooses with no legal justification of any kind is a world in which none of us are safe.

Tell your Members of Congress to demand investigations into Pete Hegseth’s murderous strikes in the Caribbean and Pacific.
Demand a Congressional Investigation Into Hegseth’s Extrajudicial Killings
Over the last few months, the Trump regime has orchestrated the bombings of small boats in the Caribbean and Pacific that it claims are trafficking drugs bound for the US. They’ve provided no legal ju...

I might sound entitled here but when I go to a store and see what basic stuff I need behind glass (extension cords in this case) I am outta there. I don't want to have to beg to buy something.

It's like these stores don't want customers.

I'm thankful for living in a (mostly) stable society that (mostly) respects education. I wouldn't be where I am today without both.

Despite all that has happened this year and will happen for the next 3.25 I think we've got a pretty good thing going. I don't think we need to give in to pessimism.

SCOOP—In August, nearly 200 current/former FEMA staffers published the Katrina Declaration, a whistleblower letter detailing all the dangers posed by current leadership.

All current employees were put on indefinite leave, and now I've learned one has been fired in violation of federal protections:
FEMA employee terminated for signing whistleblower letter
It appears to be a major violation of federal whistleblower protections and constitutional rights.

I am so completely tired of politicians' social media teams posting what amount to headlines on their feeds. Do they not know how weak it makes them look, acting as though they have so little power or influence that they need us to get all riled up in comments?

The pic may look off because I had to adjust a lot to make it possible to see Frankie.
