Thrilled to contribute to this groundbreaking work on cell therapy, where we successfully demonstrated that a targeted dose of stem cells can be obtained from extremely preterm infants and safely reinfused

NEW PAPER

Compromised cardiopulmonary transition in fetal growth restricted and small for gestational age neonates

Suboptimal fetal growth → altered cardiac structure/function → higher risk of impaired adaptation at birth, respiratory morbidity, and long-term CV risk.

More isn’t always better!

Adding systemic hydrocortisone to intrapulmonary budesonide in preterm ventilation didn’t boost lung outcomes—in fact, it blunted the benefits & triggered early brain inflammation

Thrilled to share our latest article spotlighting the emerging power of umbilical cord blood cells in treating neonatal diseases!

A great read and a promising start for UCBC applications

“There was no significant difference between the
eCPAP and dCPAP groups with regards to the time to first feed or full feeds, occurrence
of BPD as defined by Jobe and Bancalari (7.4%vs 6.5%), or discharge PMA between
the groups.”

Wow

All feeds by D1-2 is amazing in 28 w plus above cohort

Donors milk (if EBM not much) I presume?

Until what age you have provisions for donor milk?

What’s your NEC rates in >28w cohort?
drabdulrazak.bsky.social
Welcome Ted - glad to have you here. See you soon.
drabdulrazak.bsky.social
Yes looking forward to see it

I’m assuming they will show the data at PAS
drabdulrazak.bsky.social
Just help me understand this - do you mean you have been practicing this already in DK for >28 week GA babies
drabdulrazak.bsky.social
Yes that’s what happens most places but this small RCT demonstrates babies 30-33w could be all feeds enterally from day 1

Saves lot of money and costs

Of course need big trial to demonstrate safety as well - FEED1 trial has completed recruitment analysis on way
drabdulrazak.bsky.social
We could feed 30-33 week babies exclusively enterally from day 1 with no TPN or IV fluids which results in many gains including shorter hospital stay by almost 1 week as demonstrated in this RCT
