I spotted Cloverpit while doing market research months ago when the demo originally dropped. Big congrats to @panikarcade.bsky.social on the success. It's hard to hit that addictive gameplay loop with roguelikes, but they nailed it. Anyways, let's go gambling. 😈

It baffles me some game devs admittedly, do not game. I was listening to a podcast last night, and a veteran dev admitted he never really gamed.
I couldn't imagine doing either writing or game development without doing the former(reading for writing).

Coming from game dev twitter, it's refreshing to see people actually interacting and encouraging each other. I feel like twitter is either bots or rage baiting. Bluesky I've had multiple great convos since joining! 😌

Happy Fall Equinox! Super excited, we found another game jam we signed up for this OCTOBER. Our last jam we had some personal things come up, so we couldn't finish it in time -- unfortunately. Reminder game dev is a marathon, not a sprint. Super excited to see what we come up with.

Been on a hiatus for awhile -- will be posting more progress soon. Game dev is an iterative process, like any other art form, and takes time. I feel like Silksong really shook up the games industry in a good way. Pricing was great, content superb, and proved small teams are the best!

While developing indie games primarily, I also ensure to cut out an hour or two to write and hone my craft as a writer. Something I'm glad I'm seeing more and more online is making the antagonist MORE realistic. Most times when I write, I actually enjoy writing my antagonist more. #writer #fantasy

Very very important this is COMPLETELY optional. If anyone knows a way to add a "gift" or "donate" button, I would be greatly appreciative. All the research I found online, it states the only way to do it is the suggested box-- again, please do not feel obligated. Only do it if you can or want to.

Heads up to those who are curious to play our games on itch -- we are participating in a game jam next week. We know individuals like to sometimes donate a custom amount, so from now, ALL our games on itch will have a suggested amount when downloading. #indiedev #gamedev #gamejam

How long until shooters become too violent? How long until they cry horror games scare people? Considering our main focus right now is a long-term horror game focus -- this is very concerning for not only the games industry, but the horror community as well.

This is a very dangerous precedent. I've been hearing more and more about the "initiative " that pushed itch. They are kneeling to pressure, fuck that. We will continue to test new game ideas on itch, however, this is not good. How long until other genres get censored?

And no, this won't affect the flow of my day job(game dev). I originally wrote my first novel when going to college full time, working 30 hours a week and balancing a relationship in my early twenties. I can get up to that word count rather clean 30 minutes to an hour in.

Also, I'm writing 500-1,000 words a day. I know on average, Brandon Sanderson and Stephen King at his peak wrote 2,000 words a day -- and that's my objective. I have numerous series loaded in my notebooks, that I'm ready to start firing off.

Super stoked for the end of summer here, and fall time. Been working on a lot of creative projects and got back into the flow of writing.
We're reaching the point in game dev where the team has the scripts, assets, and execution to make games fast and tight. Keep it simple. Gameplay loop focused.

On a lighter note today. Angry Toaster Games is currently in development of an unannounced horror project -- in the meantime, we are also participating in a game jam next week. So if you enjoy our games, I will post it on here and the @angrytoastergames.bsky.social socials!

That Jubilee video was VILE. I cannot believe the disgusting nazi sympathizers in society can rightfully stand proud and be platformed. It's immoral. It is disgusting. Fuck nazis. Fuck fascists.
dragonfu.bsky.social
If the Angry Toaster team makes anything I'll post it here and the official social media's. As always, the game jam version will stay free on itch. We primarily do it as practice as a team.

Looking at game jams and wanting a small break during a project. It's only a week. It's only a week.

I always forget the statistic that most game studios on Steam NEVER release one game. Once you get to the second or third game, you're within the top 15 percentile and .3 percentile. It's really really hard to make games. #indiedev #gamedev #makegames

How I feel while setting up this level. On the plus side, the gameplay loop we're working on technically has ONE level. Downside is you guys will see if I screw anything up.

Apparently the new strategy for publishing books is no longer going the traditional route, but bulking up in a big backlog and making the barrier to entry SUPER cheap for readers.

Didn't even get a notification to my email, it seems my account was compromised on BlueSky. If you received anything from me, or saw anything suspicious. I apologize. I made sure to enable 2-fact for safety.

Great job New York City! You picked a great YOUNG politician. America will flourish with new ideas, not establishment ran super pac candidates who are out of touch.
