Please read response below to GCSE resit 2025 situation. Not only but also curriculum approach. The resit world is rich with consequences of society’s shortcomings, society should respect this, policy makers should take note, funding priorities & infrastructure should definitely reflect this.

The lack of student bursaries for training as an English teacher will only lead to further shortages of specialist English teachers and damage to the subject as a whole. Such a short-sighted decision!

The government has swung the axe on teacher training incentives – including cutting funding for shortage subjects such as maths and foreign languages

An important piece written by @sarahmullin.bsky.social
valued member of our Secondary & Further Education Committee, on the seriously short-sighted decision to withdraw bursaries for ITE for English. We need MORE English teachers, not less.

I’ll be heading to the lovely Bridgewater Hall in Manchester October 26th 3pm to talk with the marvellous Roisin Conaty about my memoir. Tix are £40 which is reasonable as it includes the book. Hope to see you there! 🤗♥️📚🐝

Teaching critical literacy to our 3rd yr student teachers tdy,a seminar i ♥️. We use the book,The Island, which is sadly just so relevant to the world we're living in.Safe to say we had some profound conversations and I hope I empowered them to think more deeply & teach from a perspective of justice.

I'm Jewish. I'm also Mancunian.

Every other national party leader was interviewed by Laura Kunesberg during their conference.

Maybe the BBC thought as someone who also supports Palestine - I had nothing to say?

On reports the Home Secretary plans to grant police more powers to prevent ‘repeated protests’, Greenpeace UK:

“Protest works because it is repetitive. If police had told the Suffragettes or civil rights activists ‘you’ve made your point,’ they would never have won the victories we all enjoy today"

It is time to tell new stories about (and with) money, ones that reject exclusionary violence and instead celebrate our collective capacities and creative potential, stories with room for everyone. It is time to give credit where credit’s due.
A poster with a rainbow border and text that reads:

Tell new stories!

The standard (or 'straight') story of money tells us that:
• Money is scarce - there is not enough to go round
• Responsible budgeting means letting marginalised people suffer (sorry)
• An inclusive society is unaffordable - we have to leave some people out

We say a better story is possible:
• Money has limitless creative potential - we can build a society with space for everyone
• Money is queer - we can take all our beautiful difference into account
• Money is credit - let's give credit where credit's due

Underneath the text are logos for WHERE
CREDIT'S DUE, TEESSIDE UNIVERSITY
PROUD, the INSTITUTE FOR COLLECTIVE PLACE LEADERSHIP, and MONEY ON THE LEFT
