When heterodox economists (and Andy Burnham) talk about ignoring bond markets and ending ‘austerity’, this is where their proposals will get us and it’s not an impressive outcome for most people whose incomes and assets can’t dodge bullet-like inflation.

Did you know that Turkey did some ‘MMT with Islamist characteristics’ this century? They got some cool public infrastructure out of the deal (including a new airport) but the cost is obvious. Trade-offs exist.
