![Our first thanks must be to Eoin Price for organising such a important British Shakespeare (BSA) conference on "Shakespeare, Race, and Nation" at Swansea University in 2019, and to all the speakers and auditors at that event. We are especially grateful to all the speakers who took part in that conference's "Shakespeare and Translation" seminar, whose papers and discussion points helped shape the inaugural idea for [this book]: Luis J. Conejero-Magro, Carolina Conte, Coen Heijes, Marina Kitzma, Maureen McDonnell, Paulo da Silva Gregorio, Michael Slater, Kathryn Vomero Santos and Roberta Zanoni.
We are very appreciative of the time Preti Taneja spent talking to us about translation via Teams during the global pandemic, as this conversation helped to inspire new ideas and to consolidate others that have benefitted the collection well beyond the interludes themselves.
Thank you to Varsha Panjwani and Brandi Adams for their input during the essay collection's formation, and to Sijing Lu for taking the time to share her translation expertise as the volume neared completion.
