Greta and I are back from our morning walk. She's a 7-month old long-haired German Shepherd. #Maine #photography #dogs
On our way back we #sail across the Saguenay to view a #waterfall that drops a few hundred feet! #Canada #Quebec #outside #photography

We don't have that cicada type in Maine, I miss it!

Enjoying the view from Passe-Pierre, within the Saguenay Fjord National Park! After this brief stop we'll set sail and visit a magnificent waterfall. #Quebec #Canada #sailing #outside #parks #photography

A much closer look at the classic wooden #sailboat and her owners Alan and his wife Jane, my wife's cousins, in Tadoussac, #Quebec. They always treat us to a sail on the Saguenay each visit! #Canada #outside #photography

I will find out.

It does have a centerboard, as to length 20 feet or so? It's an old boat, but beautifully maintained.

It was! Looking forward to my 5th visit!

Must be the same Richard White Ford from Pennsylvania that I worked with during my Sierra Club days.

Having an interest, caring, and appreciating Nature top knowing the name. A rose by any other name would smell as sweet! ๐Ÿ˜Š

I'm sorry to hear it didn't work out. My wife's four cousins live there.

#Sailing up the Saguenay to Passe-Pierre! This is a spit of land and a section of the Sentier du Fjord trail within the Parc national du Fjord-du-Saguenay. It's known for its stunning views. A great trip on a classic wooden sailboat owned by my wife's cousin! #Quebec #Canada #outside #photography

The Marine Mammal Interpretation Centre in Tadoussac, #Quebec. Fantastic displays, including entire skeletons of #whales in various lifelike poses. Looking out over the water we saw belugas too! #Canada #photography

I almost missed it. Greta, my German Shepherd noticed it flopping on the ground among the ferns. So much of what we see in Nature is a chance encounter!

Wow, beautifully embroidered art, nailed the look and essence! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Thank you! I don't know enough about them to say for sure, but the wings and coloring look vibrant. I've seen others that looked old. Perhaps this was its first day?

I saw this Polyphemus #moth in #Maine, during my morning walk. Named after the Cyclops in Homer's Odyssey, it's larger than your hand and the adult lives only a few days. #outside #insects #photography

I have echinacea within the deer fenced area behind the pole. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I saw beluga #whales every day during my Tadoussac #Quebec vacation. Look towards water and soon the familiar white forms would surface. Unfortunately I was never close enough for good photos. We were too early for krill and baleen whales. The pics are from past visits. #Canada #photography #outside

We're fortunate to have seen whales during past visits looking down at the bay from the house. Beluga and minke. Hopefully again this year!
June 23, 2025 at 12:57 AM
We've seen whales every visit, like these beluga and minke. Hopefully this week too!
