Today, I explore a couple of "outs" that Valve has to the Steam Machine problem. These are the two most-likely scenarios I can think up and I try my best to pick them apart...

What could Valve do with the Steam Machine...?
I've been thinking some more about the Steam Machine's troubles and the latest summary article from Ars Technica has me thinking about what...

Probably the best bet would be something like a composite metal or a ceramic. Maybe you could take a cable of some sort or a rare earth magnet or a graphene sheet.

Yeah, probably the easiest to take would be the magnet and graphene. One was about 10 years in the future, the other about 30...

So, no cellulose- or pigment-based materials (or is it just the cellulose?). I was thinking about a modern rechargeable cell but without the circuitboard, they're useless. What is the mode of failure of the electronic items? Can't be the elements because then a human couldn't get through...

A bit late but just letting you know there's a typo in your medication order email!

Seriously, though, now the whole article would just be "smartphone".

I don't see how it's any more of an illusion than any other sense? It's just headed in the opposite way.
February 3, 2026 at 4:53 PM
If it's repeatable (in all its forms) I wouldn't call it an "illusion". That would imply something not real. We clearly do reason/think and groups of phonemes formed by our lips, tongue, and jaw/teeth in concert with our vocal chords do map to those thoughts.

Well, yes but I'm specifically talking about the claims that some of the tech bros (e.g. Sam Altman) being completely false regarding the dangers, etc.

I've read so many articles of people being scared of AI uprisings, etc. and they just fundamentally misrepresent the technology.

I'm finally writing up how Nanite Tessellation works. The first few blogs posts are up. More will be coming.

Just one of the reasons LLMs are dead ends and will never lead to a general intelligence or (laughably) a super intelligence.

- the reason for misunderstanding is when the mapping of that language doesn't lead to a shared understanding of the lay of the land.

Words do not generate the next word. A sentence is a map of a journey through a thought process... (2/2)

I had similar thoughts when listening to AI proponents talking about LLMs and how they were similar to human thought:

Language can't generate language. Language is mapped to understanding (words map to understanding) (1/2)

I can get behind this and see the thought processes to get these positions. The thing I'd really switch (heh) are the positions of the WiiU and N64.

One question I have - are you putting 3DS and DS together as one? Cause I think DS is S tier but 3DS would be A or B for me.

I had a quick look. It's really difficult to select the different wall types. The select tool often disappears too quickly.

Also, I couldn't work out how to exit from controlling sprites, only switch between.

I think some hotkeys to switch between various functions would be cool!
