I wrote a thing on episodic memory and systems consolidation. I hope you all enjoy it and/or find it interesting.

A neural state space for episodic memories
Episodic memories are highly dynamic and change in nonlinear ways over time. This dynamism is not captured by existing systems consolidation theories …

#ebbs2025 was a success despite a heatwave. More participants than any meeting since covid. So much incredible science in the symposia, the posters and the blitz talks. Can’t quite believe it’s over. Now time to look forward for @ebbsociety.bsky.social meeting in Dublin in 2027!

15 years ago I met Simon James through a @durhamias.bsky.social project. Over time these conversations led to a project that changed my thinking about memory in all sorts of positive ways. Simon was a HUGE part of that. He provided intellectual input, but also warmth, generosity, and humour.

Great new paper out from @benslaterneuro.bsky.social on the way in which rodents make decisions based on context and temporal order. Fascinating stuff and first of a series of studies across different species on this task.
