By giving people the option to comfortably and safely get around by bike it becomes a viable choice. It's amazing to see more and more places transforming in this direction.

The best cycle lanes are wide, beautiful and completely separate from other roads. This type of infrastructure is common here in the Netherlands. They often connect cities and offer a great alternative for driving.

With over 35,000 kms of cycle paths, over a quarter of all journeys in the Netherlands are made on bicycle and the average Dutch person cycles 3km a day.

Cars are being phased out of city centres. This creates space for walking, cycling and public transport. Compared to 20 years ago, many streets are almost unrecognisable. They are safer, greener and far more enjoyable places to be.

These colourful racks in Calgary show that bike infrastructure can add value to public space in different ways. By giving cyclists their own space, you reduce theft, bring parked bikes together in one place and make cycling a more attractive choice for commuters.

Fietshangar has officially launched their iconic bike lockers in Dublin through the BikeBunkers programme.

The BikeBunkers have been installed in partnership with Bleeper and are ready to bring secure, parking for up to six bicycles directly into residential streets.

For 27% of them it was their first time as well. Cycling tourism is booming. During Eurovelo's first meeting of the year, participants shared how the sector is developing in their countries.

The new Stadttunnel bicycle parking facility in Zurich offers 1,240 parking spaces.

Located inside a 440-metre-long bicycle tunnel beneath Zürich Central Station, it is equipped with Abel Sensors’ SmartParking technology.

Before and after: 5 years ago, Utrecht restored the Catharijnesingel.

Once filled in during the 1970s to make way for traffic, the historic canal now flows again around the old city, lined with pedestrian paths, bike lanes, and a park-like landscape.
