Little Shit 🐈 is now at the Rainbow Bridge, restored to health & running thru the long grass w/ his beloved sister Mocha.

I have never had a pet for as long as we had our sweet kitty, nor have I loved a pet as much as I love him.

Unbelievable that we still talk about withholding HIV funding as a form of political maneuvering rather than an act of social murder, as if the 80’s + 90’s never happened and we didn’t lose an entire generation to this already.

If this country was truly “pro-life,” we would have Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, gun reform, universal child care, and a living wage.

The right-wing agenda isn’t about “life.”

It’s about control.

This really is the crux of it. They believe being trans is a bad thing that should be avoided at all costs and everything done should be with the goal of reducing the number of trans people. Make it harder to exist as a trans person to then persuade people out of transition.

On one side, you have trans people asking to be left alone and maintain our access to health care. On the other, a bunch of people who believe we shouldn't exist. But Cass believes both sides are the same.

This whole interview is atrocious.

It was always about invalidation of the athlete's gender identity.

Raskin: What makes somebody a good lawyer?

You have to identify with the people who are the victims of injustice — not with their perpetrators.

So I would say to Pam Bondi: If you’re going to stand with the victimizers and not the victims, then you’re not a real lawyer.

This is a terrible precedent to set not just for the families of trans youth. If the federal government can pick a big enough hostage, state officials will be powerless to stop threats against them. They inherently lose state sovereignty over regulating their own matters.

In other words, the judge basically said that to get the hospital to comply with state law would potentially risk the closure of the hospital due to loss of medicaid funding. It effectively means that the federal government through extrajudicial threats has abrogated state anti discrimination law.

This post is really taking off. I know the Thanksgiving detail is grabbing, but I would encourage everyone to also read the full article about this family’s struggle at Dilley.

They’ve been locked up for 130+ days.

I spent hours with them on Zoom this week, and their story deserves to be heard.

I interviewed a family of Russian asylum seekers who’ve been held more than four months at the Dilley detention center in Texas.

As we spoke over Zoom this week, their daughter Kamilla was one day shy of turning 12. I asked her what she wanted for her birthday.

She replied: “To get out of here.”

On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

The Trump administration has announced it is targeting major LGBTQ+ healthcare centers, threatening to shut them down unless they stop providing trans youth care.

It appears to violate, at least in spirit, a court order in Oregon stopping them from doing this.
