Hello, humans and animals alike. This is Dylus. I love playing video games and talking about them, and I've been studying Japanese. Expect both topics discussed by me. You can also find me on YouTube (Dylus) and Twitch (DylusC).

This will make you FLIP! A live playthrough of VVVVVV, an indie hardcore platformer from 2010, will begin TONIGHT at 6:30 PM ET! Hope to see you then!

I think I'll move tonight's stream to tomorrow. I want to watch the finale of a game that someone else is streaming. As for the originally planned Friday stream, it'll be moved to either Saturday, Sunday or Monday. I'll keep you updated.
I don't know how any of us would know. I'm assuming the credits of Gex 1 are the exact same in Japan as it is in the West. Otherwise, we would have known for a while.
Time to giddy up and search for that Eighth Chosen Child! 8人目、どこにいる? Digimon Adventure in Japanese continues tonight at 6:30 PM ET! Let's learn Japanese together!

Google Translate being Google Translate. It should be something like, "The mission to rescue Roll was a success."
The first week of my new full-time job is done, so now I have a good idea on how I can integrate streams and projects into my weeks. Here's the plan for this week. Aside from Digimon in Japanese, I'll play a short game that will make you… FLIP, let's say. (I really tried to hide the surprise, but…)
OK... As a Gex fan since 2005, I gotta ask. Why is the idea of making Gex trans fem so dang popular here on Bluesky (and presumably Twitter)? Am I an uncultured swine for not understanding?
What are people's opinions on Voidpets? I've gotten some ads for the Voidpet Dungeon mobile game, and it looks cute and interesting to me. The idea of these creatures is fascinating, too. Thinking about giving it a try someday after enjoying the Aethermancer demo.
Given the Grat's description, I’m surprised the English translators didn’t make the connection to the word “glutton”.
#FF8 Scan No.018 - Grat (グラット・Glut)
"This monster’s body is in large part a digestive sac, digesting enemies it captures with its tendrils. It also attacks using a gas that inflicts Sleep."
消化 (しょうか) - to digest
つる - tendril, vine
おこす - to fall ill with (one of many meanings)
We've returned to Japan! Let's find the 8th Child before things go bad! TODAY at 4:00 PM ET, we continue Digimon Adventure in Japanese! (BTW, if you come early, I'd like to talk a bit about the Pokémon vs Digimon thing going on…)

#FF8 Scan No.017 - X-ATM092
"The Galbadian Army’s automatically operated assault weapon, nicknamed the “Black Widow”. A weapon made to attack people; once it spots an enemy, it will pursue it until it is defeated."
機動 (きどう) - maneuver (usu. of military force)
いったん - once (sth. happens)
追いかける - chase
Let's collect the rest of everything and bring peace back to the world! The FINALE to Spyro: A Hero's Tail starts TODAY at 4:00 PM ET! Hope to see you then!

By the way, as for where Elvoret may have come from… Since it’s one of only two non-superboss… bosses not in the final dungeon to die in a spectacular explosion (aside from X-ATM092), could it have crept out of that final dungeon? I’ve always wondered if it involved a… time leak or something.
Elvoret’s Japanese name is a little clearer that this comes from “aile violette”, meaning “violet wing” in French. There is another enemy much later in the game, Elnoyle, whose Japanese name comes from “aile noire”, which is “black wing” in French. The wings of each enemy match with their names.
#FF8 Scan No.016 - Elvoret (エルヴィオレ・Aile Violette)
"A monster that has taken over the unused Dollet Communication Tower. Where it came from is a mystery, and likely even the people of Dollet had not noticed it was there."
取りつく- hold on to, possess
恐らくは - most likely, in all likelihood
気づく - to notice
Now that Red has become a much *smaller* threat, let's go for the rest of the Dragon Eggs and Light Gems! TONIGHT at 6:00 PM ET, we continue Spyro: A Hero's Tail! Hope to see you then!

Next week, I will be starting a new full-time job (finally), so I won't be streaming next week, as to try to break in to my new lifestyle. I hope you understand.
This week's streaming schedule. We'll be completing the rest of Spyro: A Hero's Tail and doing a little more Digimon in Japanese.

Stay tuned to my LIVE channel to see them!

I find it intriguing that this magic guide of sorts calls Wedge a pitiable person. I wonder how long they've worked together for that to happen.
#FF8 Scan No.015 - Wedge (ウェッジ)
"A Galbadian soldier belonging to the Dollet Communication Tower Activation Unit. A pitiable person as the leader of the unit, Major Biggs, always berates him."
部隊 (ぶたい) - unit, corps, squad
ひどい目にあわせる - to make suffer
かわいそう - pitiable, pathetic
Biggs's English description in the first fight is not very descriptive, omitting the tidbit that he’s forgetful and the kind of guy who picks fights without much thought. (Also, phew, I REALLY had to work to condense the post’s text to be under 300 characters.)
#FF8 Scan No.014 - Biggs (ビッグス)
"Major of the Galbadian army. He is one to pick fights, but not strong as a technical officer. Commander of the Dollet Communication Tower Activation Unit, he is very forgetful and quick-tempered."
少佐 (しょうさ) - major
技術将校 - technical officer
怒 (おこ) りっぽい - hot-tempered
Before starting a new arc in Digimon Adventure PSP, let's dedicate a stream to reviewing some Japanese regarding things we encountered and learned on our journey. Join me TONIGHT at 6:00 PM ET! Hope to see you then!

Amidst my Digimon Adventure streams for learning Japanese, I would love to play Digimon Story: Time Stranger with Japanese voices and English subtitles. Alas, I am a frugal croc held back by the $70 price tag, so I will wait until it goes on sale. At least I'm confident it'll go on sale regularly...
