With snow in the forecast starting late tomorrow, we'd like to remind drivers 'tis the season you'll be sharing the road with our snowplows. A few tips to keep you & our drivers safe:

- Don't assume they can see you
- Increase following distance
-Avoid blind spots
- Drive slowly

Text safety tips: Don’t crowd or pass a snowplow! Plows can push snow and material in either direction. If you must pass, stay two lanes apart and use caution.
Increase your following distance! Beware of flying snow, spray, and material.
Avoid blind spots! A plow driver’s field of vision is limited.
Some trucks have a wing plow that extends out the side, making it hard to see in heavy snow.
Drive slowly! Be smart. Be patient. A plow will pull over and let vehicles pass when safe.

SR 20 North Cascades Highway reopened this morning at 11 a.m. If you plan to drive over Rainy and Washington passes, please be prepared for winter weather, be sure to drive for conditions, and give our plows plenty of room to work. @wspd6pio

Heads up: Crews are closing SR 20 North Cascades Highway between Ross Lake Dam and Silver Star (MP 134-171) at 5PM tonight ahead of wintery, wet weekend weather. We'll assess for reopening on Monday (11/17) but there is no estimated time to reopen. Stay tuned!

Heads up for travelers of SR 28 Sunset Highway in East Wenatchee: Paving work on the South End bike/ped bridge at 9th St. means flaggers and delays Monday night (11/10) to Tuesday afternoon (11/11). Plan ahead and please be patient!

Check out this new roundabout at SR 26 & 1st in Othello. Pretty, yes? It's alllllll-most done. Flaggers overnight tonight from 6p-6a due to some lighting work, and a final paint job coming in spring. It's a beaut. Thank you for your patience!

Good morning and heads up! Maintenance crews will have the right lane of WB SR 290/Trent Ave. CLOSED between Barker and Sullivan Roads in Spokane Valley for pavement work until 4:30 today. Expect delays, and please remember to slow down in the area.

There will be snow on SR 20 North Cascades Highway this weekend. Crews are prepared, are you? Tires, warm coat, full tank of gas, charged cell, headlights on and-most of all- driving for conditions. Slower is better than a spin out. On the road we're in it together.
