Highly recommend trying to watch Part 1 and 2 together… as great as some of Part 2 is it would feel incomplete in a way that Part 1 didn’t.

Listening to the 1994 recording of Showboat at the gym. Probably the first show I saw (96 or 97 at the defunct Ford Centre in Vancouver) where I thought - oh musicals don’t just have to be fun. What a show though. Still remember the boat floating on to stage. Breathtaking. Hal Prince FTW.
